Our Intention & Aim

The word “retreat” linguistically means to withdraw or pull back. For us at Sanad Trust Foundation, retreats are our rest stop to pause from the daily and ongoing activities in order to focus our minds and hearts on our purpose, mission and intentions. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) found confort in nature. He often found sanctuary in the mountains and cave of Hira where he received his first revelation.

Following in the Prophetic footsteps is our best chance to revisit our intentions, refocus our energies, and recommit ourselves to the noble purposes of life and, for the Sanad Trust Foundation, the objectives of our service.

Sanad Spring Retreat (2026)

True connection requires a break from the noise. In the spirit of Sanad, we invite you to pause, realign, and strengthen the bonds that hold us together.

This April, join us for the Sanad Spring Retreat at the Smith Center in Umatilla. Nestled among 400 acres of pines and live oaks, this is a space for everyone—young professionals, families, and seekers alike—to breathe freely.

What to Expect:

  • Sacred Knowledge: Sessions with our teachers to revive the heart.
  • Futuwwa in Action: Archery practice to discipline the body and spirit.
  • Fellowship & Reflection: Time to connect with nature and enjoy the company of your community.

Join us for a weekend of meaningful connection.

Our Team & Board Retreats

These organizational retreats are designed to recenter our intentions at the Foundation and inspire our team, board members, and advisors to move the Foundation’s cause forward in strategic, deliberate, sustainable and effective ways. Sanad Trust Foundation’s first organizational retreat took place in February 2021. We want you to know that we work hard to ensure our efforts and our intentions are aligned so that we can sincerely and effectively serve.

We welcome your support of our professional development efforts. We believe that when we invest in our team and board, they can serve the community and you better!
